Job specification

• Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive infection prevention and control programs.
• Conduct infection surveillance, data collection, and analysis to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to educate staff on infection prevention practices and policies.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards, including those set by CDC, OSHA, and The Joint Commission.
• Lead investigations of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and develop strategies for prevention.

Candidate requirements

• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a healthcare-related field is required; a Master's degree in Nursing (MSN), Public Health, or a related field is preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of Texas or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is required.
• At least 2 years of infection prevention experience in an acute care setting.
• Working knowledge of Joint Commission Core Measures and/or CDC initiatives is mandatory.
