About The Role
The Events Marketing Manager, Live Journalism Events will join the entrepreneurial team that delivers world‑class event propositions at Dow Jones. The team creates, runs and manages successful events which convene the world’s leading C‑Suite executives, politicians, industry experts and vertical business communities. As Marketing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in generating awareness, interest and demand for our events, contributing to the future new business growth of the group. You will report to the Director, Acquisition Marketing, Live Journalism and work in our midtown Manhattan office three days each week.
YOU WILL
Work closely with the Audience Data team to develop targeted audiences, identify gaps and define strategies to build out data sets and engage them.
Develop and execute multi‑channel campaign plans to drive awareness and conversion of our event propositions including email, digital media, owned media, paid media, social, print, sales, and partnerships.
Proactively analyze in‑cycle campaigns, drawing on successes and failures to identify tactics that are working to deliver on acquisition goals.
Work closely with sponsorship sales teams to identify targeted audiences and define strategies to acquire, engage and retain attendees.
Collaborate with paid media, brand, product, news, sales and operations teams to derive creative ways to drive event acquisition.
Manage marketing budgets for all assigned conferences, monitoring effectiveness and making timely adjustments to maximize ROI.
Provide on‑platform event support for key events, ensuring platform and registration integrations align.
Own the analytics and story behind the data for sponsor clients.
Function as a data‑driven, analytical marketer who owns the narrative from marketing data to influence other departments and drive forward the product.
Take full ownership of the event websites and registration process to ensure ease of registration, an excellent customer experience, and strong value propositions to drive conversions.
Develop a value proposition to drive engagement through the website.
Deliver the marketing plan to your direct manager and wider team for each event.
Develop and maintain clear dashboards / reports that summarize performance of marketing campaigns across five predetermined KPIs / metrics.
Share top‑line numbers weekly with the management team.
Measure and manage campaign costs, efficiencies and drive ROI.
Analyze and identify actions to drive improved performance.
Produce monthly reports with optimization and recommendations for the management team.
Produce post‑event reporting.
Continuously analyze B2B event performance, proactively collaborating with team members to identify opportunities for optimization and implement strategies to enhance outcomes.
Manage, mentor and develop associate‑level team members, ensuring they meet performance standards and are on track for growth into senior roles.
YOU HAVE
The willingness to work in our NYC (midtown) office three days every week.
At least seven years of progressively responsible marketing experience, ideally in B2B publishing, events, media or agency equivalent.
Experience using CRM and marketing automation platforms, ideally Salesforce and Eloqua.
Proven delivery of business outcomes and growth through direct marketing.
Analytical skills and a data‑driven mindset, coupled with a passion for creativity and forward‑thinking flair.
Experience with the test‑learn‑measure approach.
Experience analyzing results and making recommendations quickly.
Experience owning marketing initiatives and exhibiting a ‘can‑do’ attitude at all times.
Ability to embrace and drive change in a high‑pace environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication, along with strong interpersonal skills.
A keen customer‑facing demeanor.
A bachelor’s degree in marketing or business, CIM qualified, and / or equivalent experience.
