About The Role
As the Fulfillment Manager at Ship Essential, you will lead and empower our outbound team to consistently exceed expectations, ensuring that every order is fulfilled efficiently, accurately, and on time. This role is pivotal to maintaining and improving our high standards of service while driving continuous improvements in operational efficiency and scalability. You will oversee the picking, packing, and carrier sortation teams, ensuring seamless workflows and adherence to service level agreements (SLA). Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead and inspire the outbound team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
- Monitor and drive team performance, ensuring adherence to SLAs for picking, packing, and carrier sortation.
- Set and communicate clear performance expectations, providing coaching and feedback to team members to ensure growth and success.
- Proactively address performance gaps, maintaining a standard of excellence across all outbound operations.
Operational Excellence & Throughput Optimization
Oversee all outbound operations, including picking, packing, and carrier sortation, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows.Develop and maintain labor plans to align with fluctuating demand, ensuring adequate staffing without overextending resources.Manage throughput by balancing workloads, preventing bottlenecks, and ensuring all orders placed before cutoff are shipped same-day.Implement and enforce SOPs for all outbound processes, ensuring consistency and compliance across the team.Issue Resolution & SLA Compliance
Oversee the resolution of picking, packing, and inventory issues, ensuring all problems are addressed immediately and orders are shipped within the SLA.Ensure clear communication with other departments to resolve cross-functional challenges effectively and efficiently.Process Improvement & Scalability
Identify inefficiencies in picking, packing, and sortation processes and implement innovative solutions to enhance speed, accuracy, and capacity.Collaborate with leadership to ensure outbound operations are scalable and aligned with the company’s growth strategy.Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continually improve operations.Collaboration & Communication
Partner with inbound managers to ensure smooth handoffs and timely replenishment of pickable inventory.Work closely with account management to resolve brand-specific challenges and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.Maintain a strong presence on the floor, conducting regular walkthroughs to observe, support, and reinforce adherence to standards.Requirements
Proven leadership experience managing large, high-performing teams in logistics, fulfillment, or supply chain operations.Demonstrated ability to hold team members accountable while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.Expertise in managing high-volume pick, pack, and sortation processes with a focus on scalability and efficiency.Strong organizational and analytical skills, with experience in process improvement and throughput optimization.Ability to make data-driven decisions while also addressing immediate operational needs effectively.Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and fulfillment technology.Experience
Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within logistics, fulfillment, or supply chain management.Success in managing cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges and achieve business goals.Experience in process engineering or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).Proven ability to lead in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a focus on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and elevate Ship Essential’s outbound operations while contributing directly to the success of our brands and the growth of our company.
