Job Title : Researcher

Department : Arts and Sciences Chemistry and Biochemistry Administration

Researcher to join a research team in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences performing research in solving challenges in K-O2 batteries.

This includes how to seal the K anode from the O2 side that involves prototype design and polymer / ceramics materials engineering.

This will improve the lifetime of the battery cycling. Duties include analyzing the potential leaking mechanisms in the current battery design, coming up with solutions that improve the battery cycle life, measuring the oxygen concentration during the charging process, interfacing with external collaborators and manage collaborative projects.

Other responsibilities include collaborating with PI and research group, assisting with proposals for external funding, and supervising and training undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral assistants.

Qualifications :

Master’s degree in materials science and engineering and 5 years of research experience required.

Desired :

PhD degree in materials science and engineering or related area.

Additional Information :

The target hiring range is $62,700-$83,600 annually.The actual salary will fall within this range based on the candidate’s qualification, internal equity, and the unit’s available budget.
