About The Position
Job Title : Float Pool Registered Nurse
Profession : Registered Nurse
Specialty : Critical Care Float
Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : Night
Hours per Shift : 12 hours (18 : 00 - 06 : 00)
Experience : 2 years of critical care experience required
License : Must have state / compact license
Certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS required. NIH and TNCC preferred.
Must-Have :
- Para / thoracentesis
- Intubation
- Central line placement
- Arterial line placement
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Care of ventilated patients
Description :
This position is within a float pool role.
The role requires experience in both ICU and emergency department settings.
Ratios for patient care are 1 : 2.
First-time travelers are accepted if they have relevant experience.
Weekend coverage will be required every other weekend.
The clinician may float to a sister facility as needed.
All certifications and licensure specified must be sent along with the application.
There is no on-call requirement.
The majority of staff is involved in rapid response teams across departments.
Flu shots are required during the flu season.
The facility is an acute care hospital.
All applicants must have a finalized request for time off provided at the time of application.
No time off requests will be accepted within the first two weeks of employment.
Total days off cannot exceed ten days.
Full calendar weeks of time off will not be accepted.
The daily census of patients is approximately 17.
Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and other health professionals.
The position requires experience in acute care settings, and med-surg experience is necessary.
Knowledge of the charting system is preferred.
Candidates should have skills in areas such as IV management, respiratory therapy, and wound care.
This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care in a critical environment.
