\n \n\n \n The role you'll contribute :

\n \n\n \n This position is responsible for the administrative and clinical activities of the following units : Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Pre-Admission Testing (PAT), Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU), Main Operating Room, Endoscopy, Sterile Processing, and Anesthesia Support Services. The Director will also work with the Manager of Anesthesia Professional Services and provides oversight support when needed. Functions include overseeing Patient Care Management, Physician Relations, and Quality Care activities for the respective areas. Works closely with the Chief of Surgery and Chief of Anesthesia.

\n \n\n \n The value you'll bring to the team :

\n \n\n \n\n \n Patient / Client Management : responsible for the development and implementation of identified standards of nursing care to meet the needs of the perioperative patient. Assumes 24 hour accountability for the management and delivery of the daily patient / client care of the respective departments.

surgical utilization; meets basic surgeon needs, i.e., accurate case start times; minimal case turnover time; quality patient care and customer service; experienced knowledgeable staff; easy access to OR schedule; satisfactory inventories of equipment, instruments and supplies.

\n \n Actively participates in departmental and hospital wide Performance Improvement activities. Reviews on a regular basis nursing assignments to ensure assignments are made in accordance with the qualifications of nursing personnel and patient care requirements. Oversees and participates in the development of policies and procedures which reflect current acceptable practice based on AORN, ASPAN, AAMI, and SGNA standards and are consistent with regulatory agency requirements.

\n \n Informs the Executive Director of Surgical Services of

significant / unusual

issues, incidents, or trends. Collaborates with medical staff (through Chiefs of Surgery and Anesthesia) to evaluate and facilitate improvement in Perioperative Services and promotes positive physician / staff relationships.

\n \n\n \n\n \n The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :

\n \n\n \n Minimum qualifications :

\n \n\n \n\n \n Minimum 5 to 7 years Surgical Services including Operating Room experience required

\n \n 3 to 5 years

management / leadership

experience required.

\n \n Florida RN license required.

\n \n BLS

\n \n BS or BSN required or currently registered in a BS or BSN program with completion within 2 years of hire into position.

\n \n\n \n\n \n Preferred qualifications :

\n \n\n \n\n \n Masters preferred.

\n \n National Surgical Services certification preferred (CNOR, CPAN or CAPA)

\n \n ACLS and PALS
