Entry-Level Computational Technical Intern: Gain Real-Life Experience at the bleeding edge of Scientific Computation
ARA’s brand new office, located at OSU’s west campus is looking to hire interns in its Computational Multiphysics group.
You will get an opportunity to work on problems of significant national and international impact while honing your programming, modeling and simulation skills.
We are especially on the lookout for young STEM talent who are interested in and excited about making a career at the junction of complex physics modeling and software development.
Computational Technical Intern Requirements :
- Enjoys programming and is comfortable programming in at least one of python, C / C++, or Fortran
- Excellent analytical and math skills
- Must be a citizen.
- Freshman - Junior in College with Courses in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
- Interested in pursuing a future career and / or doctoral program in R&D with a focus on the computational physical sciences
Computational Intern Preferences :
- Linux experience comfortable in predominantly a Linux / CLI environment.
- Scientific computing experience using C / C++, FORTRAN, Python, or MATLAB.
- Courses in numerical analysis, numerical linear algebra, or vector calculus.
- Experience using revision control systems such as git.
Formal or informal experience contributing to and / or reviewing for large, peer-reviewed codebases.
This position is on-site at an ARA office, located near The Ohio State University in Columbus OH. Candidates must live within driving distance of this location - relocation and / or commuter assistance is not available for this position.
