Position Level:This is an entry-level opportunity designed for individuals who are early in their careers or looking to build foundational experience in this field.
Work Arrangement:This role follows a hybrid schedule and requires in-office presence in Columbus, Ohio two days per week.
Location Requirement:Candidates must be based within a commutable distance to Columbus, Ohio. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Work Authorization:This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT Extension program.

In this capacity, you’ll code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards and best practices.
Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
Adopts continuous improvement and learning.
Handles project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables proactively.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
Experience: One or more years of technology experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency of at least one programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, etc. Knowledge of software development lifecycle. Good problem-solving skills. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria, such as competencies and experiences, may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the Director and HR Officer.
