Job Description Overview
There's never been a better time to join the shipbuilding industry. Our work is mission-critical, supporting the U.S. Navy and strengthening security.
About Department 705
Department 705 is an integral part of Electric Boat's Planning Yard businesses. With this business, Electric Boat supports mission-ready submarines assigned to the Pacific Northwest through engineering, integrated logistics support, and configuration management. Additionally, D705 is responsible for the management and execution of design and build projects for submarine support facilities and equipment for the principal Navy commands at Bangor, WA, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Kings Bay, GA.
A multi-discipline group comprised of mechanical, structural, and electrical engineers, D705 Engineering operates in a collaborative, dynamic, team-oriented manner. Using a design-build approach, D705 interfaces with Operations, Design, Planning Yard, Test, and Program Office personnel to arrive at innovative solutions to difficult problems. Additionally, interaction with the United States Navy customer is typical, including the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Naval Sea Systems Command, and submarine crews.
