Mercado Central Copa & Caña is looking for a Sous Chef / kitchen manager for their tapas bar.
The position would include preparing menu items, keeping track of kitchen inventory, plating, keeping work stations and kitchen clean, and overall kitchen management. Candidate should have experience with a meat slicer, good knife skills, food safety knowledge, excellent plating skills, and a friendly demeanor. A NYC food handlers license is essential for the position. The kitchen does not have gas and most dishes are served cold. All our foods are tapas (small plates) and pintxos (food on tiny skewers).
The bar is located inside the Mercado Central "Colmado", a specialty food shop selling gourmet foods from all over Spain, which has been accredited by the Spanish Government. Knowledge of food and wine from Spain is a major plus.
