This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities centered on costume design and construction.
1.) This faculty member will teach two courses. Course #1, THEA030 Costuming meets Tuesday / Thursday from 9 : 30-10 : 45, capped at 12 students.
This course also includes a Costuming Lab (THEA030L) that meets Monday through Friday from 3pm-5pm capped at 12 students.
Course #2 THEA184 Costume Design meets Monday / Wednesday from 12 : 30-1 : 45, capped at 12 students.
2.) In addition to teaching, this faculty member will be responsible for designing costumes for the Department of Theatre Arts Spring 2025 production of the musical Chicago in the Performing Arts Hall.
Performances will run April 3-5, 2025. Design work entails research and analysis of period and location, rendering designs and overseeing their construction in consultation with the director, as well as attending production meetings and technical rehearsals as part of the larger production team for the show.
3.) The last component of this position is supervision of the Costume Studio. The studio is open Monday through Friday from 3pm-5pm.
Students in the THEA030 class use the space to complete course related work. This is also the space where costumes for all Main Stage productions are built and / or maintained with the assistance of 5 work-study students.
The supervisor is responsible for overseeing student costume design and construction work, as well as maintaining costume equipment and inventory.

Minimum Qualifications :
- A BFA in Theatre Design / Technology
- Specific training / experience designing costumes and teaching costuming related courses
