Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain APIs to connect with third-party education applications for data retrieval and ingestion.
- Create secure, scalable endpoints with authentication, version control, and messaging best practices.
- Perform testing and validation of API integrations to ensure reliability.
- Implement translation layers to map external data structures onto internal data models.
- Collaborate on data exchange standards to promote interoperability across education data systems.
- Enforce API service boundary best practices for security, reliability, and scalability.
- Work with Data Engineering, Database Administration, and Cloud Teams to support downstream processes.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize integrations for consistent data availability.
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate with development teams for coding consistency.
- Provide technical recommendations aligning solutions with enterprise architecture.
- Support data strategy by advising on data handling, system integration, and technical approaches.
Requirements :
Experience designing and building API integrations, preferably in education or public benefits sectors.Support for data formats like JSON and XML, and data architectures including MDM, ETL, reporting, and storage.Experience with code reviews, technical debt identification, and collaborative codebases.Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, authentication protocols, and secure API design.Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI / CD pipelines.Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, Node.js, and knowledge of API protocols like REST, SOAP, GraphQL.Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to perform complex data mapping and translation between data models.Capacity to translate business goals into scalable, well-documented technical solutions.Additional Information :
The pay range is an estimate and may vary based on experience and other factors. Benefits include medical / dental / vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and more.
