Overview The Project Manager I provides direction to multi-disciplined teams in collaboration with clients on the execution of integrated production systems within the packaging industry. This role is responsible for managing project scope, deliverables, and financial performance to ensure successful completion and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary customer contact and act as the main interface throughout project execution. Own overall project performance from inception through start-up, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget. Coordinate and lead project execution (generally up to $5MM) through collaboration with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Production, Shipping, Finance, and Customer Service. Partner with senior project managers on higher complexity projects exceeding $5MM. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, internal teams, and vendors through regular communication and meetings. Manage and resolve technical and commercial issues promptly and professionally. Communicate project progress and drive planning actions to meet deadlines. Negotiate contract modifications when necessary. Organize and lead project meetings : customer kick-offs, progress updates, and lessons-learned sessions. Ensure timely invoicing and assist in resolving payment issues. Manage and report project revenues, costs, and margins. Review vendor and inter-company bids for scope, quality, performance, and cost alignment. Coordinate project documentation submissions and approvals. Develop and maintain master project schedules and risk management plans. Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect both the customer and company interests. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSME / BSMET), or a related technical field — or equivalent experience. Minimum 2 years of experience in Engineering, Integration, Design, or Project Management, preferably in packaging or automation. Proven experience working with multi-disciplinary project teams. Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills. General understanding of manufacturing processes and practices. Experience with AutoCAD preferred. Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project Professional, and MS SharePoint. Experience with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems preferred. Ability to travel 30–40% domestically and internationally, with flexibility for off-hour communication across time zones.
