JOB SUMMARY :
The Manager of Proposal and Grant Writing serves as a key member of Truth Initiative’s Development team, responsible for crafting compelling written materials that support fundraising efforts. This position focuses on writing and submitting grant applications and drafting proposals for corporate, foundation, and other institutional prospects. In addition, the Manager will lead the creation and maintenance of high-quality Development collateral—such as cases for support, one-pagers, pitch decks, and proposal templates—and will work cross-departmentally to ensure consistent and persuasive messaging. The Manager of Proposal and Grant Writing also supports internal reporting, providing timely updates on Development activities to senior leadership and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (
Research, write, edit, and submit high-quality grant applications, letters of inquiry, and proposals to corporate, foundation, and institutional funders.
Lead the development, design, and maintenance of Development communications materials, including case statements, one-pagers, pitch decks, proposal templates, and stewardship reports.
Serve as the primary liaison between the Development team and other departments to source content, metrics, and impact data for proposals and collateral.
Compile and deliver regular updates on Development activities, funding pipelines, and outcomes to senior leadership.
Assist in shaping the organization’s overall fundraising messaging and storytelling strategies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position is based in Washington, D.C. with a hybrid work schedule of three days in the office and two telework days.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE :
The salary range for this role is starting at $85,000-$90,000 on a national basis. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications for the role, relevant work experience, skillset, internal equity, location, and certifications, consistent with applicable law. Salary is just one part of our total rewards package which additionally includes performance bonus for eligible roles, and competitive benefits.
