Job Summary

The Associate Product Manager will be responsible for bringing our products to market. This role helps manage the execution of the strategic plans that move innovative products from concept to the shelves of our independent retailers.

This role is responsible for supporting the many aspects of everyday maintenance of our product lines from updating labels, to developing sales materials, to responding to Sales requests.

The nature of this role involves significant cross-functional interaction with many groups inclusive of Sales, Supply Chain / Planning, R&D, Regulatory, and other functions within Marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the Product Manager in portfolio management through successful product launches in order to ultimately drive long-term sales growth, increase market share, and support our independent channel
  • Oversee the product formulation process with R&D team to ensure business goals are met
  • Leads product launch efforts, which may include product testing, market test and national launch plans, sales projections, SKU set up, developing product messaging, drafting creative briefs and support materials
  • Oversee product content developed throughout the organization to ensure consistent messaging and positioning
  • Oversee label creation and modification projects
  • Responsible for sales and retailer communications associated with your portfolio including announcements of new products, product improvements and advancements, new marketing materials, website changes and any other updates
  • Develop and analyze sales reports and trends.
  • Continuously assess market trends and the competitive landscape
  • Work with Market Research team to gather the necessary information to inform product strategy

Qualifications :

Required Knowledge & Desired Skills

  • 3-5 years of product management, marketing or sales experience
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Commitment to a customer-first approach
  • Technical and paint application knowledge a plus
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining excellence in execution, and delivering projects on time
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting both within the marketing function, within the company, and with external agencies and customers
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment while managing projects to a timeline
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong written, presentation and oral communication skills across various levels of the business
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate analytics into actionable recommendations and results
  • Ability to regularly travel to our R&D facility in Flanders, New Jersey.
  • Ability to travel, as needed, to visit retailers, and end users throughout North America. Travel is approximately 20%.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word
