Gift Shop Clerk

Provides prompt, courteous service to the customers of the gift shop.

Responsibilities :

• Maintain quality control of outgoing merchandise.
• Assist customers with gift / flower suggestions and refers any customer complaints to Manager of Clerk II.
• Work weekends, evenings or holidays as needed.
• Stock candy, magazines and merchandise on a daily basis as necessary.
• Operate cash register and Lottery machine, opens and closes Shop.
• Inform Manager or Clerk II when stock items or supplies are low in need of re-ordering.
• Maintain shop (i.e. dusting, cleaning, rubbish removal) to ensure a safe and aesthetic environment.
• Conform to The Basics of Service Excellence as described in the hospital's orientation program.
• Answer any incoming phone calls and directs calls appropriately.
• Receive incoming merchandise, check invoices, unpack and assist with pricing as directed by Manager or Clerk II.
• Count change bank, Lottery bank and reconciles Lottery receipts at end of day when closing.
