Summary : The Process Engineer is responsible for maintaining and continual improvement of manufacturing processes by keeping tooling, programs, and set up documents operational.

This involves overseeing the efficiency and safety of current manufacturing process and developing new processes to improve manufacturing efficiency and / or decreased costs.

Familiarity with manufacturing production equipment paired with an understanding of operation, change settings, and how to optimize machine utilization are required abilities to perform the role successfully.

Essential Job Duties

  • Designs Fixtures
  • Utilizes CAD Programs
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints.
  • Maintains accuracy of document set up sheets as changes and / or improvements are made
  • Practices a continual improvement mindset to analyze current process and production levels to drive improvements
  • Generates workflow processes and procedures to identify and realize cost savings through process improvements, such as by monitoring tooling and repairs costs.
  • Establishes key performance indicators and metrics to lead problem solving efforts and root cause analysis in the key areas of scrap reduction and repeat downtime causes.
  • Assists lead workers with basic troubleshooting of machining issues.
  • Ability to work independently to manage workload and set priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and modifies messaging appropriate to audience such as manufacturing staff, engineering groups, management, etc.
  • Uses project management skills to take projects from conception to closure by aligning with stake holders, communicating effectively with collaborators, and driving results through establishment of clear objectives and deadlines.
  • Provides support and input to other departments, such as Quality, for matters that involve processes and / or process control.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Possesses the knowledge and skills required to create and execute engineering diagrams, plans, and models that fulfill the product and customer requirements and specifications.
  • Ability to produce practical and functional solutions that meet operational needs.
  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing safety practices.
  • Skill and ability in following and creating work instructions (verbal and written).
  • Skill in communicating information and ideas so others will understand and to get buy in for compromises when needed (verbal and written).

Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

  • Skill in accurately completing assignments on time and with attention to detail to ensure quality work product.
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Ability to regularly lift 5 lbs. and occasionally up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time.
  • Ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Proficiency with Office Suite Programs.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Constantly works in a manufacturing environment without an HVAC system.
  • Exposure to loud noise, which requires hearing protection.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environment, which requires eye protection.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environment, which requires close toe shoes.

Wages

Starting range is $80,000 to $100,000.

Salary range for this role is $80,000 to $120,000.

General Description of all Benefits : Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, EAP, HSA, FSA, prescription drug coverage, basic life and accident insurance, and STD and LTD benefits.

Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees have a discretionary PTO program and 2 weeks of paid sick leave per year.

Employees receive 10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.

General Description of Other Compensation : ConMet provides a monthly wellness credit for up to $50 for eligible gym or fitness related expenses.

Participation (100% company paid) in the ConMet / Amsted Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP). Annual bonuses, if company financial targets are achieved.

Tuition reimbursement program.
