Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Benefits Specialist who will focus on the facilitation of employee health, welfare, and retirement benefit plans to ensure compliance with applicable laws and recordkeeping requirements.

As the primary point of contact for escalated benefits questions and issues, the Benefits Specialist will partner with internal Finance teams, HR, IT, employees, external vendors, and auditors to deliver exceptional service.

This role requires a deep understanding of benefit plan administration and regulatory compliance, along with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Managing day to day benefit administration responsibilities
  • Manage data to support internal and external audit requests
  • Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings for all group plans.
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
  • Assist in the review of plan documents and materials.
  • Provide suggestions for continuous improvements, work closely with payroll and HR Services. Partner with MT HR team members and act as liaison with benefit vendors for escalated employee issues, appeals
  • Provide timely, accurate, courteous, and appropriate responses to employees.
  • Work with vendor partners to develop and update interfaces as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with related laws, rules and regulations as needed.
  • Run standard reports and perform ad hoc reporting as requested.
  • Administer account based plans to ensure process flow and ensure plan funding requirements; conduct payment analysis and partner with finance (treasury, accounting, payroll) for invoicing, banking transfers, intercompany invoices.
  • Conduct internal audits on eligibility, billing, and system transmissions to ensure data / system integrity.
  • Develop and deliver communication materials and educational resources to help employees understand their benefits and wellness options
  • Oversee Employee Wellness Incentive Program
  • Provide support during the annual open enrollment period.
  • Contribute to special projects and assignments as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in related field would be preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of experience : professional employee benefits experience with strong knowledge of administration and compliance for retirement and health and welfare programs, HIPAA, The Affordable Care Act, COBRA, IRS regulations, consumer driven health plans (CDHPs) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA's) ERISA, self-insured health plans;

understanding of benefits billing process and other employee benefit related laws and regulations.

  • Experience in using Sharepoint
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
