Director of Programs
Analog Photonics Overview
Analog Photonics is a fast-growing silicon photonic technology startup. We use our proprietary silicon photonic platform to serve automotive, communications, consumer, and defense markets with innovative, chip-scale solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and technical leadership to the engineering team
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects
- Propose new programs, both government and commercial
- Collaborate with team leads to ensure alignment on project goals
- Provide both internal and external technical updates on engineering projects
- Communicate with customers to understand market needs and present product offerings
- Responsible for interviewing and hiring new full-time engineers and interns
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
- M.S. (Ph.D. preferred) in electrical engineering, applied physics, or related field.
- Strong experience in proposal writing and answering funding calls
- 10+ years of leading an engineering program in the optical communications / photonics space.
- Experience designing products in both commercial and defense
- Experience in optical design : refractive / reflective / diffractive components, lasers or displays for microscopy, LiDAR, optical networking, or consumer applications.
- Experience executing on a product design schedule / leading reviews
- Experience interacting with presenting technical product data to external customers
- Technical hardware design experience building chip-scale solutions.
- Ability to generate technical content for product development
- Ability to travel as needed.
