Legal Assistant (Chicago)

A respected AmLaw 200 firm is looking for a Legal Assistant with strong experience in litigation, business law or real estate.

Location : Onsite in Chicago, IL

Responsibilities

• Prepare, revise, and format complex legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and briefs using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Ensure all filings and documents adhere to court rules and firm specifications.
• Manage physical and electronic client files, including electronic filing (e-filing) in state and federal courts where applicable. Organize and track critical evidence, exhibits, and data.
• Coordinate attorney calendars, schedule internal and external meetings (including depositions and hearings), manage travel logistics, and process expense reports.
• Assist with monthly pre-billing processes, accurately review and edit attorney time entries, and coordinate with the accounting department on client invoices.
• Answer, screen, and direct phone calls with professionalism. Handle incoming and outgoing mail, email, and faxes efficiently.
