Account Manager
Responsibilities and Duties
- Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
- Travel throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.
- Displays or demonstrates product, using samples and / or pamphlets, and emphasizes salable features.
- Quote prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
- Prepare reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
- Work with inside sales representatives and other departments to keep account activities and literature up to date.
- Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts.
- Establish annual targets for the assigned department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Understand Kaizen techniques and possess demonstrated ability to lead people and get results
- Proficient in presenting information effectively and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Fluency in Japanese at conversational level is a must.
- Willing to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds frequently.
- Willing to travel approximately once a month.
