Job Details :
Our company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our team. This is a permanent position that involves overseeing the daily operations of our accounting staff, ensuring the accuracy of all financial transactions and reports, and providing guidance and leadership to enhance efficiency and productivity. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of accounting principles and processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, and inventory with standard pricing. They will also be adept at managing a variety of tasks such as processing payroll, managing fixed asset databases, and supporting internal and external audits.
Responsibilities :
1. Oversee the daily operations of the accounting staff, ensuring accuracy in all accounting activities.
2. Review, approve, and reconcile general ledger and cost accounting entries, account reconciliations, inventories, and financial statements.
3. Assist in the preparation, review, and distribution of management reports for daily production labor and harvest operations.
4. Process biweekly payroll, including biweekly, quarterly, and year-end tax reporting.
5. Manage the fixed asset database, work in process, depreciation schedules, and property tax assessments.
6. Process marketer sales and remittances within custom production and accounting software.
7. Manage the chemical application program, including material ordering, delivery scheduling, work-order processing, county usage reporting, and inventory reconciliation.
8. Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and addressing audit inquiries.
9. Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within accounting operations and the organization as a whole.
10. Perform financial analysis and reporting to management as requested.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role within the Accounting and Finance industry.
3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, and inventory with standard pricing.
4. Proven experience with payroll processing and tax reporting.
5. Experience with fixed asset management and depreciation schedules.
6. Proficiency in custom production and accounting software.
7. Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify opportunities for process improvements.
8. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
9. Ability to support internal and external audits.
10. Intellectual capacity to learn, reconcile, and guide the development of custom production and accounting sub-schedules and software.
