Job Title : Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on electrical and mechanical systems for converting equipment. The technician ensures minimal downtime of equipment, maintains operational safety standards, and supports facility-wide electrical systems to ensure continuous and reliable production.
Responsibilities
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replace damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools.
- Provide Electrical / Mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Willingly work all necessary hours and shifts.
