Responsibilities :
Purchase Order Management : Assist in the creation and execution of purchase orders. Maintain accurate records of purchase orders and related updates throughout their lifecycle.
Production Scheduling Support : Collaborate in the development of production schedules by providing timely purchase order updates. Identify potential issues from a purchasing perspective and recommend solutions to ensure smooth production timelines.
Material Requirements Planning (MRP) : Execute MRP to ensure proper alignment of purchasing activities with production demands.
Delivery Follow-up : Monitor the progress of orders to ensure on-time delivery of purchased products. Proactively follow up with vendors to address delays or discrepancies.
Inventory Control : Assist in managing inventory levels by issuing materials, maintaining inventory records, and handling inventory adjustments. Monitor reorder points to ensure acceptable stock levels are maintained.
Inventory Troubleshooting : Troubleshoot inventory fulfillment issues and provide recommendations for resolution. Make necessary adjustments to inventory records and processes as needed.
Physical Inventory Preparation : Prepare inventory for physical counts by ensuring all items are accurately logged and ready for verification.
Annual Physical Inventory Participation : Participate in the annual physical inventory count and assist with related tasks to ensure accurate stock levels.
SOP and Work Instruction Development : Contribute to the creation and revision of SOPs and Work Instructions. Report any inconsistencies in work instructions, SOPs, or bills of materials to the supervisor.
Process Improvement : Actively participate in problem-solving activities and provide recommendations to improve quality, workflow, and overall efficiency.
Warehouse Support : Assist with warehouse operations and other related activities as needed to support the team and ensure operational continuity.
Requirements :
Experience : 2+ years of purchasing or buying experience with an associate’s degree or equivalent.
MRP Knowledge : In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems and processes.
Inventory Control Expertise : Proven experience with inventory control practices, including inventory adjustments, reordering, and tracking.
Skills : Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities. Able to troubleshoot and multitask effectively.
Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy and attention to detail with a strong willingness to learn.
Team Player : Reliable, trustworthy, and able to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Bill of Materials Understanding : Ability to understand and interpret bills of materials for purchasing and inventory management.
Physical Requirements : Ability to sit for long periods and manage office tasks efficiently.
Computer Skills : Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other software tools used in purchasing and inventory management.
Schedule : Monday-Friday, 7 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM or 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM
Wage : $20.00-$30.00 / hr. DOE
