We are seeking a Certified Coding Specialist proficient in EPIC software to join our team on a temporary basis, with the opportunity for permanent placement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding medical records for outpatient and inpatient services using ICD-10-CM and HCPCS / CPT coding guidelines. This role involves coding for various departments including Laboratory, Radiology, and outpatient surgeries, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and medical necessity.
Responsibilities :
- Code outpatient encounters across departments such as Laboratory, WLX Laboratory, Radiology, WLX Radiology, and CC Radiology using ICD-10-CM and HCPCS / CPT coding guidelines.
- Assign codes for inpatient charts, including outpatient surgeries, inpatient OB, and general inpatient coding.
- Add professional fees to outpatient surgery codes as required.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians’ offices and billing departments to resolve coding-related issues and ensure accurate reimbursement.
- Conduct follow-up with physicians to clarify diagnoses and ensure completeness of medical records.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, regulations, and compliance requirements.
