Job description
BCH is actively seeking a Claims Consultant to join our Team! This role will be responsible for handling the day-to-day, ongoing client service needs related to claims management, utilizing strong trusting relationships built with clients, internal staff, and insurance carriers. Performance of duties and responsibilities are expected to meet or exceed the BCH Service Standards of this role.
Key Responsibilities :
Review, analyze, and process, when applicable, the first notice of loss on behalf of our client to the insurance carrier(s), including communicating the claim number and adjuster contact information to the client.
Monitor all open claims activity, assisting as needed to ensure the client’s needs are being met and the claim is brought to conclusion in a timely manner.
Prepares Best Claims Handling reports, and attends and assists with regularly scheduled client presentation meetings.
Prepares and distributes internal Large Loss Alerts for all catastrophic events, and claims that result in a fatality and or losses with reserves >
100,000.
Maintain BCH systems, including document management, according to BCH policies and procedures.
Understand, utilize, and manage ImageRight tasks according to BCH procedures.
Requirements :
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external clients.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficient with or able to quickly learn the software and applications used in the organization.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently independently, and within a team environment.
Ability to understand and manage complex insurance placements.
Education and Abilities :
Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Active General Lines Property and Casualty license required.
Minimum of 5 years of Commercial Lines Account Management experience
Mid-large property and casualty account experience preferred.
Insurance industry professional designations preferred.
Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
