General Purpose : Ensure all quality assembly functions are properly completed in an effective and efficient manner. Coordinate the proper execution of the non-conforming parts procedure. This will include but is not limited to ensuring proper handling of all out-of-spec material keeping accurate & detailed records and interfacing with other (s) Available : 2nd shift (2 : 00 PM to 10 : 00 PM) Monday through Friday Supervisory Responsibilities : NoneEssential Duties and Responsibilities : Include the following; other duties may be assigned. Performs CMM programming and setup to facilitate production inspectionsAbility to educate machine adjusters on interpretation of CMM reportsReads interprets and fully understands engineering drawings / blueprintsMaintain and order necessary equipment for CMM systems fixtures and necessary equipment with manager approvalServe as trainer and mentor to other Zeiss operatorsEnsure quality inspections are performed to the standard proceduresCoordinate handling of all non-conforming material in the leadership and guidance to the quality assembly team Ensure proper transfer of non-conforming parts in the ERP systemKeep detailed records and report status of the non-conforming materialCoordinate with appropriate departments when product requires a return rework and / or scrapRequired Skills / Abilities : Ability to read and interpret technical drawingsAbility to write and / or modify CMM programsWorking knowledge of the metric systemAbility to use measurement devices such as calipers micrometers inspection gauges and other measuring toolsKnowledge of AX is a plusProficient computer skills (MS Word MS Excel)Qualifications / Job Requirements : To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Repetitive lifting of a 1 lb. product is required throughout the shift. The employee is regularly required to lift or lower bins with an average weight of 40 lbs. but could weigh as much as of 70 lbs. Personal safety protective equipment is required. Work Environment : The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to filtered humidity and temperature controlled air between 65ºF and 80ºF and sometimes outside weather conditions which can include sunshine rain sleet and snow high or low temperature and humidity. Standing and walking back and forth from office to warehouses and other buildings. The employee is regularly required to work in a laboratory environment with inspection equipment and work regularly scheduled shifts within our hours of operation.
