Job description

Production Planner

At Endress+Hauser, progress happens by working together. As the global leader in measurement instrumentation, our ~17,000 employees shape the future in the field of process automation. Whether developing and realizing new technology as a team, collaborating to build instrumentation, or strengthening vital relationships with countless global industries, we work to create trusted relationships that help everyone thrive. As a family-owned company, we look beyond short-term moves and work to create a vision that is forward-thinking for our people, our clients, and the world at large.

We are looking for a Production Planner to join Endress+Hauser Optical Analysis, the global leader in Raman spectroscopy, tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS), and quenched fluorescence (QF) instrumentation for laboratory, process, and manufacturing environments. Our laser-based analyzer systems perform high-performance chemical composition and concentration measurement of all phases of matter in any installation environment.

What is the role about?

Under the direction of the Manager of Manufacturing, the Production Planner will primarily be responsible for facilitating the job order process by planning resources and materials with Production and Purchasing to ensure customer on-time delivery.

Which essential functions will you perform?

  • Plan material and production capacity to achieve customer on-time delivery objectives.
  • Create job orders, track status and resolve issues to ensure a high level of production schedule adherence.
  • Coordinate Just-In-Time material delivery with Purchasing.
  • Utilize ERP Advanced Planning System (APS) to analyze data and make decisions.
  • Interface with Sales Support to coordinate customer order shipments, expedite orders and provide order status.
  • Analyze plant capacity to determine workflow, tooling and human resource requirements and identify bottlenecks in Production.
  • Create manufacturing routings and update / fix ERP Item Master data.
  • Analyze inventory and safety stock to ensure optimal levels of inventory.
  • Coordinate and execute Customer and Engineering change orders.
  • Purchase outside services related to job orders.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO requirements and follow SOP guidelines.
  • Other Planning and Purchasing related tasks as assigned by Manager.

The duties above describe the general nature and level of work being performed in this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties; additional responsibilities may be assigned, as required, by management.

What qualifications are needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (B.A. / B.S.) and 2+ years of experience in production planning or related areas; or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • Experience with SAP and MS Office Suite required.
  • LEAN Manufacturing experience.
  • APICS CPIM Certification desired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to foster effective collaboration and positive working relationships across internal teams and external partners.
  • Collaborative team player with leadership ability and a commitment to building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Proven capacity to multitask and work under pressure with the ability to balance immediate and long-term priorities.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and negotiation skills, enabling data-driven solutions and strategic planning.
  • What can you expect from us?

  • Family-owned, highly committed global company with a sustainable vision of the future.
  • Lifelong learning encouraged by versatile training, tuition reimbursement, and further education opportunities.
  • Comprehensive benefit package (to include medical, dental, vision) and 401(k) savings with company match.
  • Compensation is competitive and includes bonus opportunities.
  • Work-life balance encouraged through our 10 company-paid holidays, paid time off, paid parental leave, and employee assistance programs (financial, mental, and physical health and wellbeing).
  • Employees work in a safety-first, climate controlled, clean manufacturing facility with utilization of Lean practices and ergonomic workstations to enhance productivity and comfort.
  • The listed range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 but the actual package offered may vary depending on different factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation for this position would include other elements which include an annual nondiscretionary bonus.
