Description

Astrana Health is looking for a skilled and compassionate X-Ray Technician to join our growing team. In this vital role, you’ll perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures to support accurate diagnoses and exceptional patient care. If you’re ARRT licensed and bring hands-on imaging experience, especially in outpatient or clinical settings, we’d love to hear from you!

Our Values:

  • Empower Entrepreneurial Provider and Care Teams
  • Operate with Integrity & Excellence
  • Be Innovative
  • Work As One Team

What You'll Do

  • Perform radiographic exams in compliance with physicians’ directions and radiology protocols.
  • Review the referring order to identify the specific body parts that require imaging.
  • Confirm the procedures with the patient to ensure alignment with the referring physician's orders and the patient's medical history.
  • If there is any uncertainty regarding the adequacy of the study, consult with a radiologist or a senior technologist prior to proceeding.
  • Provide a detailed explanation of the test to patients, outlining what they can expect during the examination and ensuring they are positioned correctly.
  • Adjust the controls on the X-ray equipment in preparation for the imaging process.
  • Execute high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures that comply with certification standards for radiologist interpretation.
  • Review all X-ray images to confirm their clarity and suitability for interpretation before the patient departs, redoing any images as necessary. Always aim to minimize the call rate and reduce unnecessary radiation exposure to the patient.
  • Provide radiation protection, such as lead aprons, to specific patients to limit radiation exposure during X-ray procedures.
  • Record and update all patient records with precise clinical information in radiology information systems.
  • Obtain the patient's explicit consent before any physical contact during the procedure.
  • Be mindful of harassment prevention protocols when the patient is of the opposite sex.
  • Expedite the forwarding of STAT images and create CDs when required.
  • Ensure cleanliness and perform regular maintenance tasks to keep the X-ray equipment functioning effectively and inform the appropriate person when it needs repairs.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for patients.
  • Perform exam room disinfection and ensure general cleanliness of exam areas.
  • Handle, safeguard, and disclose patients' protected health information (PHI) strictly in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
  • Maintain inventory by checking and stocking radiologic supplies, and placing orders for future requirements.

Qualifications

  • Previous X-ray imaging experience preferred
  • Must be ARRT certified and licensed
