Timmons Group is currently seeking a Systems Architect to join our GIS Services group to drive technical excellence to our clients on the West Coast.
The Systems Architect plays a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and optimization of complex information systems and cloud-based solutions. This individual is a technical leader, collaborating closely with project managers, application developers, and clients to deliver best-in-class solutions that meet business objectives and technical requirements. The Systems Architect is responsible for setting technical direction, ensuring adherence to best practices, and mentoring team members, while taking active ownership of system architecture decisions across the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will be based in Sacramento working on-site 3 days a week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following :
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient system architectures for client and internal projects.
- Design, implement, migrate, upgrade, troubleshoot, and integrate ArcGIS Enterprise deployments, while monitoring and optimizing performance.
- Participate in all phases of the project lifecycle, including requirement gathering, technical planning, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to define technical requirements, advise on scope of budget changes, and recommend optimal solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the best solutions are implemented.
- Ensure system integration, data migration, and cloud infrastructure solutions are designed and implemented according to project needs.
- Participate in agile team activities, including scrums, planning, and review sessions, to maintain alignment and communication.
- Manage risk identification and mitigation strategies related to system architecture.
- Facilitate technical solution reviews, providing constructive feedback and leading efforts to resolve technical disputes and make necessary tradeoffs.
- Maintain thorough documentation of system architectures, standards, and operational procedures.
- Provide technical consulting and support to clients and internal teams, ensuring exceptional customer service.
