The GIS Specialist is located in Salt Lake City, UT and typically reports directly to the Department Supervisor.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Create and manage utility data for customers including but not limited to municipalities and utility service providers
- Utilize survey data to generate plans and maps.
- Perform QA / QC on incoming data and outgoing deliverables to ensure a complete and accurate product.
- Take lead on new GIS initiatives and provide related support to coworkers and clients.
- Participate in the acquisition of on-site field data to accomplish the design or to monitor and evaluate equipment performance.
- Perform tasks such as digitizing, copying and scanning of drawings, prints and maps.
- Follow quality practice and procedures by self-checking all work product and checking the work of others as required.
- Follow safety procedures.
- Perform and update records in ArcPro and ArcGIS Online.
