A company is looking for an Inpatient Coder I to work remotely. Key Responsibilities : Analyze clinical documentation to assign appropriate ICD-CM and ICD-PCS codes Utilize computerized software to assign the most accurate Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) Participate in coding audits and maintain coding accuracy rates for optimal reimbursement Required Qualifications : Associate or bachelor's degree in Health Information Management Certification as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, or CCA required upon hire or within one year Proficient in DRG groupers and thorough knowledge of coding systems Knowledge of third-party payer requirements and federal / state coding regulations Two years of inpatient coding experience preferred
