Job description

Product Developer

Los Angeles, California, United States

Mindful movement. It's at the core of why we do what we do at ALOit's our calling. Because mindful movement in the studio leads to better living. It changes who yogis are off the mat, making their lives and their communities better. That's the real meaning of studio-to-street: taking the consciousness from practice on the mat and putting it into practice in life.

The Product Development Department is looking for a dedicated, driven, and inspired individual to join the Alo family. This role will be instrumental in developing elevated studio to street styles, and building alo's speed to market pipeline. The ideal candidate will have an apparel education and background, with an understanding of garment construction and calendar management. This is a fast-paced environment, the ability to multitask, creatively problem solve, and work under tight deadlines daily is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development process from concept through production, ensuring garments meet the highest standards of quality, fit and construction
  • Leverage an extensive network of global suppliers to optimize lead times, ensure cost efficiency, and uphold impeccable quality standards
  • Collaborate with design, technical, and production teams to maintain the integrity of each piece from prototype to final product
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiating costs, MOQs, and timelines while maintaining strong communication for seamless development
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and react quickly to changes
  • Understand and manage calendar deadlines
  • Manage style level vendor allocation and seasonal WIPs
  • Maintain PLM system General Style page, BOM (Bill Of Material) and Cost Sheets
  • Analyze costing data and reporting to ensure margin goals are met
  • Work with on-site PLM Developers on system advancements
  • Close working relationship with Design, Tech Design, Raw Materials, Production, Color teams
  • Attend fit sessions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the apparel industry
  • Self-starter, ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with appropriate sense of urgency
  • Commitment and superior attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment, build trust and relationships with vendor & company staff
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Thorough understanding of testing protocol, product integrity requirements, product cycle timeline and garment construction
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing work environment
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, & Outlook
  • Proficiency with PLM
