Tool Selection & Cutting Strategy: Interpret blueprints and GD&T to select appropriate cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies based on machine capability and material.
Simulation and Proving: Run computer simulations, dry-runs, and prove-outs on machines to verify toolpaths and prevent collisions prior to production.
Collaboration & Communication: Coordinate with project planning personnel on machining quotes, lead times and tooling requirements. Work closely with shop supervisors, machinists and quality personnel to resolve issues and
improve workflow.
Fixture design/setup: Design, build, or assist with custom fixtures and work-holding solutions as required.
Process Documentation: Create and maintain detailed setup sheets, tool lists and job documentation that enable consistent, repeatable production.
Technology & Development: Utilize advanced and AI-assisted CNC programming tools (, CloudNC) to accelerate programming and improve process efficiency.
Production Support: Assist with tool crib management and support production machining activities as directed by the supervisor.
