Job Summary

The Dean of Dual Credit Partnerships will serve as the institutional lead in developing, managing, and expanding dual credit programs across partnering school districts, Texas Department of Juvenile Justice facilities, home school entities, and other agencies that serve dual credit students. This position will provide strategic vision, oversight, and coordination for all dual credit operations, including new initiatives, ensuring compliance with state and accreditation requirements while promoting student access, retention, and success. The Dean collaborates with academic and student services leaders to align Texas Education Agency and college curricula, support credentialing and onboarding of dual credit instructors, and foster strong, sustainable partnerships with dual credit partners. The position will operate under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Statewide Partnerships.

Duties/Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

  1. Reviews, revises, and maintains appropriate guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation of off-campus instructional sites.
  2. Oversees and manages Dual Credit staff - director (1), specialist (3), coordinator (3), and data entry staff (1).
  3. Responsible for program development, implementation, and evaluation, as well as building and maintaining relationships with dual credit partners.
  4. Plans, directs, and evaluates all aspects of the operation of the Dual Credit off-campus instructional sites in support of LSCO's mission.
  5. Serve as the primary liaison between the College and partnering dual credit entities regarding all dual credit programs and initiatives.
  6. Develop, implement, and evaluate strategic plans for dual credit expansion and continuous improvement including grant opportunities, early college programming, college bridge, and others.
  7. Oversee MOU's, articulation agreements, and compliance with state and accreditor guidelines (e.g., TEA, The Commission, THECB).
  8. Coordinate onboarding, credential review, and support services for dual credit instructors in alignment with The Commission standards.
  9. Oversee student-focused support structures for dual credit students, including enrollment, advising, onboarding, early alert, tutoring, and transition-to-college initiatives.
  10. Lead cross-functional initiatives that enhance success for all dual credit students.
  11. Represent the college in external meetings with ISD partners, advisory boards, and regional/state dual credit networks.
  12. Evaluate, create, and improve internal processes associated with Dual Credit off-campus instructional sites.
  13. Develop and maintain guidelines and procedures manuals for providing access, retention, and success of students in partnering school districts.
  14. Work with the Dean of Instruction and the Dean of Curriculum and Career Alignment to identify appropriate curriculum and pathways and scheduling of courses at Dual Credit off-campus instructional sites.
  15. Assist with onboarding, training, and development of faculty at Dual Credit off-campus instructional sites, including overseeing the campus liaison program.
  16. Recommend annual catalog changes relating to areas of supervision.
  17. Prepares the annual departmental budget and presents and defends budget requests at the budget hearings.
  18. Directs and controls the expenditure of departmental fund allocations within the constraints of approved budgets.

Other Job Functions

  • Serve on internal and external committees related to student success, college access, and K-12 partnerships.
  • Provide annual reports and data summaries on dual credit participation, performance, and equity outcomes.
  • Support institutional strategic planning by contributing insights related to high school partnerships and early college programming.
  • This role has significant responsibility for student and campus activities and is therefore considered a Campus Security Authority (CSA) pursuant to the federal Jeanne Clery Act. This position will be responsible for reporting information in compliance with the Clery Act.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President of Statewide Partnerships.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications

General Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, higher education administration, curriculum and instruction, or a related field required.

Experience

  • Experience in K-12/higher education partnerships, dual credit, or college access programs.
  • Experience with strategic planning and state/federal reporting preferred.

Supplemental Information

Physical Requirements

Requires constant sitting, walking, and seeing. Requires frequent standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to 25 pounds; operating a calculator, personal computer, and various office equipment. Requires infrequent stooping, bending, sorting, and filing.

Security Sensitive

This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code 51.215.

Working Conditions

Normal office environment with frequent travel to partner school districts, college campuses, and community locations. Position requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support meetings, events, recruitment activities, and other institutional responsibilities.
