Description
SummaryPosition Objective:
The Manager, Olympic Programming is responsible for the oversight and coordination of Sunbelt Rentals’ Olympic delivery program schedule. This role will lead a small team charged with developing, updating, and tracking activities to ensure successful delivery of commercial projects as well as alignment with overall corporate objectives (master plan) tied to the Olympic Games.
Outputs from this team will be fully integrated into the LA28 Venues and Infrastructure construction schedule, LA28 Energy delivery schedule, and other LA28 Functional Area schedules where required, which are reported quarterly to International Olympic Committee (IOC) experts for review and evaluation. The role is client-facing with both LA28 leadership and internal Sunbelt Rentals business units, requiring strong program management, scheduling, and relationship-building expertise.
Position Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage a small team responsible for schedule development, updates, integration, and reporting for Olympic-related projects
• Maintain and oversee Sunbelt’s Olympic master plan, ensuring activities align with corporate objectives and Games requirements
• Coordinate integration of Sunbelt schedules into LA28’s official Venues & Infrastructure and Energy schedules
• Act as primary point of contact with LA28’s Venues and Infrastructure team, Energy team, and IOC schedule experts
• Partner with internal Sunbelt divisions (Lines of Business, Marketing, etc.) to ensure all project and corporate deliverables are tracked and aligned
• Develop and manage reporting cadence to Sunbelt leadership and LA28, including project status updates, risk tracking, and schedule variance analysis
• Provide expert recommendations on scheduling and temporary construction delivery strategies to ensure successful multi-sport, multi-venue outcomes
• Coordinate integration of commercial project delivery with compliance, governance, and financial performance tracking
• Represent Sunbelt Rentals in external Olympic-related meetings and maintain a professional, client-facing presence
• Ensure the programming of third-party, non-LA28 owned Olympic projects in coordination with the overall delivery schedule to provide early visibility of delivery risks
• Significant travel in support of the project will be required
• Other duties as required for the successful delivery of the project
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Facilities Management, Operations. Management or similar fields required, or a combination of education and relevant experience
• Minimum 10+ years of experience preferred in construction delivery and/or management (temporary/legacy) for multi-sport/multiple-venue large-scale event programs (Olympics, World Cups, Expos, or similar)
• Proven experience in program/schedule management within high-pressure, client-facing environments
• Strong understanding of large event operations and construction logistics
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project required
• Experience with Primavera P6 highly desirable
• Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Competencies:
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Professional demeanor with the ability to effectively interface with internal stakeholders and external partners
