POSITION SUMMARY

The Junior Technician at Sureshine Care and Restoration Services is an entry-level field role designed for motivated individuals who are ready to learn the art and science of professional stone restoration while delivering the exceptional quality and client experience that Sureshine is known for. Working under the guidance of experienced Lead Technicians, the Junior Technician supports the execution of stone restoration, polishing, sealing, and cleaning services across residential and commercial job sites, building technical competency and professional habits through hands-on daily experience. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, shows up with a positive attitude, and is committed to growing into a skilled technician who represents Sureshine's values of quality, integrity, and customer satisfaction on every job.

ABOUT SURESHINE CARE AND RESTORATION SERVICES

Sureshine Care and Restoration Services, Inc. is a Huntington Beach, California-based stone restoration company dedicated to protecting, refinishing, and restoring the natural beauty of residential and commercial surfaces. The company specializes in a comprehensive range of services including marble, granite, travertine, limestone, quartz, and quartzite restoration, along with tile and grout cleaning, glass polishing, exterior stone care, and specialty applications such as AntiEtch marble counter sealing and garage floor epoxy. What sets Sureshine apart is its team of highly trained technicians who bring both technical mastery and consultative expertise to every project, ensuring precise workmanship backed by the company's unconditional service guarantee. The company is guided by a commitment to education, quality, and long-term client relationships, reflected in a customer satisfaction rating of 4.87 out of 5 and a 95 percent client return rate that speaks to the trust Sureshine has built across every community it serves. At Sureshine Care and Restoration Services, the mission is to create customers for life by delivering expert stone care with integrity, professionalism, and a guarantee that every job is completed right the first time.

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • The Junior Technician arrives at every job site on time, fully prepared, and ready to work, executing assigned tasks with care and attention to detail while consistently meeting Sureshine's quality standards under the direction of the Lead Technician.
  • The candidate actively absorbs technical training, asks thoughtful questions, and applies coaching from senior team members, demonstrating measurable improvement in stone restoration skills across marble, granite, travertine, and other surface types over time.
  • Every client interaction reflects Sureshine's commitment to professionalism and care, with the Junior Technician leaving job sites clean, communicating respectfully, and representing the company's brand with pride.
  • Equipment and materials are consistently handled, maintained, and stored properly, with any damage, deficiencies, or supply needs identified and communicated to the Lead Technician promptly.
  • The Junior Technician completes each job with zero reservice calls attributable to their work, building a track record of quality and reliability that earns the trust of the Lead Technician, clients, and company leadership alike.

OBJECTIVES

  • Execute stone restoration, polishing, honing, sealing, and cleaning services on marble, granite, travertine, limestone, quartz, and quartzite surfaces under the direct guidance of experienced Lead Technicians.
  • Prepare job sites thoroughly before beginning work, including protecting surrounding surfaces, staging equipment and materials, and confirming scope of work with the Lead Technician prior to starting.
  • Follow all technical procedures, product application instructions, and quality standards established by Sureshine to ensure every job meets the company's service guarantee on the first visit.
  • Maintain all tools, equipment, and machinery in clean, operational condition, reporting any damage, malfunction, or supply shortage to the Lead Technician immediately to avoid disruption to job site productivity.
  • Assist in the application of specialty services including tile and grout cleaning, glass polishing, exterior stone care, AntiEtch marble counter sealing, and garage floor epoxy as directed and trained.
  • Conduct thorough job site cleanup at the completion of every project, ensuring all surfaces, work areas, and surrounding spaces are left in a condition that reflects Sureshine's commitment to professionalism and client satisfaction.
  • Engage with clients in a courteous, professional manner throughout the job, reinforcing Sureshine's reputation for quality workmanship and respectful customer service at every touchpoint.
  • Participate actively in all training sessions, technical demonstrations, and skill development opportunities provided by Sureshine, applying new knowledge consistently in the field.
  • Assist the Lead Technician in reviewing completed work before departure, confirming that all scope items have been addressed and that the client is satisfied with the results.
  • Communicate job site observations, client feedback, and any scope concerns to the Lead Technician clearly and in a timely manner to support accurate reporting and follow-up.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols, product handling guidelines, and OSHA standards on every job site, prioritizing personal safety and the safety of clients and team members at all times.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, punctual schedule, and positive attitude that reflects Sureshine's values and contributes to a team culture built on accountability, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.

COMPETENCIES

  • Attention to Detail: Executes stone restoration work with precision and care, catching surface imperfections, product inconsistencies, and scope gaps before they result in a reservice call or client dissatisfaction.
  • Coachability: Actively seeks feedback from Lead Technicians and applies instruction with a positive attitude, treating every correction as a development opportunity rather than a criticism.
  • Work Ethic: Approaches every job with full effort and a sense of ownership, maintaining high energy and focus throughout the workday regardless of job size, surface type, or environmental conditions.
  • Professionalism: Represents Sureshine in appearance, communication, and conduct at all times, understanding that every client interaction is an opportunity to reinforce the company's reputation for quality and trust.
  • Technical Aptitude: Demonstrates an eagerness and ability to learn stone restoration techniques, product chemistry, and equipment operation, applying new knowledge consistently and accurately in the field.
  • Reliability: Shows up on time, prepared, and ready to contribute every day, building a track record of dependability that Lead Technicians and company leadership can count on.
  • Client Orientation: Engages with clients warmly and professionally, leaving every job site with a client who feels respected, informed, and fully satisfied with the work performed.
  • Safety Mindfulness: Follows all safety protocols, product handling guidelines, and job site procedures without exception, prioritizing the well-being of clients, colleagues, and themselves on every visit.
  • Team Collaboration: Works cooperatively with the Lead Technician and fellow crew members, contributing positively to the team dynamic and stepping up to support wherever needed without being asked.
  • Initiative: Anticipates the next step on the job site, staying engaged and proactive rather than waiting to be directed for every task, demonstrating a mindset of ownership and contribution.
  • Adaptability: Remains composed and effective when job site conditions, client needs, or project scope shifts unexpectedly, adjusting approach without losing focus on quality and professionalism.
  • Communication: Shares job site observations, client concerns, and progress updates with the Lead Technician clearly and promptly, ensuring no important information is missed or delayed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • No prior stone restoration experience required; paid on-the-job training is provided and candidates with a demonstrated eagerness to learn are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Prior experience in a trade, field service, janitorial, cleaning, or hands-on labor environment is a plus and will be considered favorably.
  • Basic familiarity with hand tools, power equipment, or cleaning chemicals preferred; willingness to learn proper handling and application is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and consistently in a field or production environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a professional, client-friendly demeanor required for in-home and commercial job site interactions.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, arrive punctually, and maintain a reliable schedule across varying job site locations throughout the day.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred; reliable transportation to job sites required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver tools, equipment, and supply containers weighing up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the workday during job site setup, service execution, and teardown.
  • Must be capable of working in a variety of physical positions for extended periods, including kneeling, crouching, bending, and working at ground level on floors, showers, and countertops common to stone restoration work.
  • Must be comfortable working in residential and commercial interior environments with exposure to chemical products, requiring adherence to all safety and ventilation protocols at all times.
  • Must possess the physical stamina to maintain consistent performance and attention to detail across full-duration shifts that may include multiple job sites in a single day.
  • Must have sufficient manual dexterity to operate restoration equipment, apply products precisely, and perform detailed hand-finishing work on a variety of stone surface types and textures.

COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY

As an equal opportunity employer committed to meeting the needs of a multigenerational and multicultural workforce, Sureshine Care and Restoration Services recognizes that a diverse staff, reflective of our community, is an integral and welcome part of a successful and ethical business. We hire local talent at all levels regardless of race, color, religion, age, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability, and actively foster inclusion in all forms both within our company and across interactions with clients, candidates and partners.
