A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for Sr. Mainframe Programmer.

Position type: Full Time – Contract
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Charlotte North Carolina 28262 (3 days onsite/2-days work from home)

As Sr. Mainframe Programmer, you will:

• Production Support & Issue Triage: Deliver fast-paced L2/L3 production support, investigate system abends, and perform rapid root-cause analysis on critical money movement flows.
• Code Enhancement & Maintenance: Write, test, and maintain high-performance COBOL and JCL code to support business features, regulatory requirements, and performance optimizations.
• Transaction Railway Monitoring: Ensure seamless uptime and performance across real-time and batch networks (Zelle, Wire, ACH, ATM).
• Data & Messaging Integrity: Manage DB2 queries, VSAM file structures, IBM MQ message queues, and security authorizations (RACF) across integrated financial platforms.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate with cross-functional engineering pods, system administrators, and business stakeholders to deploy production patches safely.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Core Technical Stack: 6+ years of mainframe experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS / CWS, DB2, VSAM, RACF, and IBM MQ.
• Support Capabilities: Proven experience working in fast-paced production support environments with tight SLA requirements.
• Troubleshooting: Strong capability to independently debug batch and online processing errors under high-pressure scenarios.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
