Job Summary :
The Medical Assistant in the Cardiology Department in our Scottsdale, Arizona location, works as an essential part of our healthcare team, primarily assisting in providing patient care and ensuring the seamless operation of our cardiology unit. This role involves a broad range of clinical and administrative tasks, all crucial in maintaining efficient patient flow and quality care in the cardiology department.
Duties of the Position :
1. Assist healthcare professionals in the examination and treatment of patients by performing a variety of clinical tasks including recording vital signs, documenting patient information, and preparing patients for examination.
2. Carry out EKGs and other basic cardiology procedures under the supervision and direction of the cardiologist.
3. Assist with the administration of medication and immunizations, as well as basic first aid.
4. Facilitate seamless patient flow by coordinating with other healthcare professionals in the unit and scheduling patient appointments.
5. Keep track of and maintain medical supplies inventory for the cardiology clinic.
6. Provide top-quality patient service, including answering patient inquiries, addressing their concerns, and making them feel comfortable and well-informed.
7. Comply with all medical legal requirements such as HIPAA and maintain absolute confidentiality regarding patient information.
8. Coordinate with insurance companies for pre-authorizations and follow operational standards and safety regulations.
9. Assist with other administrative tasks as needed, including maintaining and updating patient records, billing, and conducting follow-ups.
