Posting Summary
Rutgers The State University is seeking a Peer Support Specialist I in the Military Services within Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare.
Performs functions in support of the Unit’s mission providing person centered, culturally competent, and “consumer friendly” services to individuals who contact the Call Center. Receives telephone, chat, and text requests for service, undertakes review of the service need of the caller or consumer, and responds by offering peer support and appropriate referrals and dispositions.
Among the key duties of this position are the following :
- Under the direction of the supervisor, is the lead for their assigned shift and acts as the contact point for all aspects of their shifts.
- Provides assistance to the Peer Support Specialist IIs & IIIs, as needed.
- Is the point of escalation for situations on the call center floor.
- Works with the clinician on duty or on call for crisis calls coming into the call center.
- Keeps the Peer Support Specialist IIs & IIIs abreast of any call center changes or new work flow implementations.
- Communicates with the supervisor on scheduling needs for their shift and call outs from staff members.
Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Work Arrangement Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a fully remote work arrangement.
