Job Summary
The Teacher Aide at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic School supports the classroom teacher in fostering a positive, faith-filled learning environment. This role assists with instructional activities, classroom management, and student support to promote the academic, social, and spiritual development of all students in alignment with Catholic values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities
- Provide support to students individually and in small groups
- Help maintain a structured, safe, and positive classroom environment
- Assist with classroom organization, preparation of materials, and daily routines
- Support students with transitions, assignments, and classroom expectations
- Monitor student behavior and communicate observations to the teacher
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student success
- Model and uphold Catholic values in all interactions
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; some college coursework in education preferred
- Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff
- Commitment to the mission of Catholic education
