Director General Accounting

Essential Function: Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for SBH domestic operations and selected corporate areas. Responsible for managing the financial statements in our Oracle application from a user standpoint, ensuring all statutory requirements are met and Sarbanes-Oxley assigned controls are designed and operating effectively.

Primary Duties

• Ensuring the accuracy of the financial reporting cycle close, reconciliations and Sarbanes-Oxley controls for Sally operations and selected corporate functions.
• Ensuring the overall accuracy of the rent obligation process, including applicable reconciliations.
• Coordinate and lead, with SEC manager, the quarterly (10-Q) and annual filings (10-K) for the Security Exchange Commission on a timely basis including relevant GAAP research and related memos.
• Oversees that cash and gift card reconciliations including recording the cash receipts for our Rewards Credit Card program.
• Coordinate the timely and efficient management of KPMG annual audit and quarterly reviews.
• Provides tax related analyses in support of various tax positions and oversees abandoned property filings.
• Provide support to the field operations for special analyses or response to questions.
• Develop management team of up to four managers or senior managers.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience
• SEC filing experience required
• CPA designation preferred
• Experience in accounting for international operations a plus
• Experience in accounting for multi-location retail operations a plus
• Oracle Software experience plus.

Working Conditions /Physical Requirements

• The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
• The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
