Description
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS) has built a world-class reputation for compassionate patient care, cutting-edge research, and hands-on training programs for resident physicians and clinical fellows. We are seeking candidates for a Vitreoretinal Surgeon or a Medical Retina Specialist that will involve patient care, teaching, and research. Clinical activities will include patient care at UW Health clinic locations. Teaching activities will involve medical students, residents, fellows, and continuing medical education in the area of vitreoretinal surgery / medical retina. Research activities may include participation in clinical trials and / or translational research.
1. Provide vitreoretinal surgical and / or medical retina patient care at the UW Health Hospital and Clinics and potentially the Williams S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital and regional UW Health eye care sites.
2. Participate in resident / medical student / fellowship education.
3. Participate in and conduct clinical trials in vitreoretinal eye diseases.
4. Perform administrative duties as required by this position.
All faculty members are required to teach medical students, residents, and fellows. Faculty are expected to participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
