We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Materials & Process (M&P) Engineering Senior Manager to lead our technical team supporting Interiors products. This role is responsible for driving materials and process strategy, leading a team of engineers, and enabling the development, qualification, and industrialization of composite and metallic interior components.

What You Will Do:

• Lead and develop a global Materials & Process Engineering team, fostering technical growth, strong collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Serve as the technical authority for materials, processes, and specifications across interiors product lines, ensuring compliance with aerospace regulatory and customer requirements.
• Oversee development, characterization, and qualification of composite materials, adhesive systems, metallic finishes, and other interior-related materials.
• Partner closely with Design Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to industrialize new materials and processes, improve manufacturability, and support rate production.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for material and process-related nonconformities, ensuring long-term robustness and performance.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, research institutions, and industry partners to stay ahead of emerging technologies and best practices.
• Champion process optimization, automation opportunities, and documentation improvements to increase efficiency and production readiness.
• Manage resources, project priorities, budgeting, and staffing to ensure team execution aligns with company goals.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
• Deep knowledge of composite materials, resin systems, bonding, cure processes, finishing systems, and qualification/verification methods.
• Proven experience leading teams, developing technical talent, and building engineering capability.
• Demonstrated experience in industrialization, production support, and transitioning technology from development into manufacturing environments.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with aerospace interiors, cabin products, or high-rate composite manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as FAA/EASA regulations, fire/smoke/toxicity requirements, and aerospace material specifications.
• Experience implementing automation, digital manufacturing tools, or advanced process controls.

The salary range for this role is 145,600 USD - 276,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
