Description

At Northrop Grumman, our employees have incredible opportunities to work on revolutionary systems that impact people's lives around the world today, and for generations to come. Our pioneering and inventive spirit has enabled us to be at the forefront of many technological advancements in our nation's history - from the first flight across the Atlantic Ocean, to stealth bombers, to landing on the moon. We look for people who have bold new ideas, courage and a pioneering spirit to join forces to invent the future, and have fun along the way. Our culture thrives on intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity and bringing your whole self to work — and we have an insatiable drive to do what others think is impossible. Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.

At Northrop Grumman we are at the forefront of cutting-edge technology and innovation in space-based systems. Our team is dedicated to developing advanced RADAR payloads that support critical missions and enhance our capabilities in space. We seek a motivated and skilled technical leader to guide, validate, and improve the assembly, integration, and testing phases of our RADAR payload production program.

We are seeking a Space RADAR Payload I&T (Integration and Test) SME (Subject Matter Expert) to solve complex technical problems with test procedures, test equipment, test environment, and/or the unit under test encountered during the AI&T (Assembly Integration & Test) process of our space-based RADAR payloads which are comprised of an Electronically Scanned Array (ESA) and Processing Subsystem. This is a technical support role to help the AI&T program manager, the AI&T Lead, and program Chief Engineer resolve the failures and anomalies seen during AI&T of a high-rate production program. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in RADAR I&T, technical leadership skills, and the ability to explain difficult technical concepts to program management and the I&T team and to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to solve problems.

This position is on-site in Linthicum, MD, but may be supported hybrid (sometimes remotely from home) depending on dynamic program needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues during AI&T, providing timely resolutions to unforeseen challenges
  • Track progress and provide updates to management and stakeholders regarding test anomaly and test failure resolution
  • Train, mentor, and guide team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with 12 years relevant experience, 10 years with MS, or 7 with a PhD
  • Experience planning, executing, and analyzing integration and test campaigns, including near-field and compact antenna range activities for RADAR systems
  • Experience integrating embedded firmware, flight software, and hardware to realize the radar system's operational modes and command/control interfaces
  • No clearance required to start but must be eligible for TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS and/or MS in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
  • Space Integration and Test (I&T) experience at subsystem (e.g., RF panel, ESA, or processor), Payload, or Space Vehicle level
  • Experience with ESA (Electronically Scanned Array)/Phased Array Antenna Integration, Test, and Calibration
  • Experience designing and analyzing RF hardware for space-based RADAR payloads, from front-end components to beamforming and frequency conversion
  • Active TS and/or SCI clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $169,000.00 - $253,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date. However, this timeline may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidates.
