Job Description
Job Description
The Senior Program Evaluator develops and implements organizational learning and program evaluation initiatives that cross geographic regions and a diverse scope of Unbound’s global programs. The evaluator also facilitates the effective communication of evaluation findings to internal and external stakeholders and promotes the use of evaluation for organizational learning, decision-making and positive program improvement.
Unbound’s approach to program evaluation emphasizes credibility, simplicity, utilization of results, and participatory methods. It is a bottom-up approach focused on building the capacity of all stakeholders to use the tools and techniques of program evaluation to answer critical questions and discover the most effective ways to achieve the organization’s mission. This evaluator must have strong technical skills in every aspect of program evaluation and strong leadership skills to guide efforts that cross geographies, cultures and sectors.
Key Accountabilities
- Design program evaluations that extend to multiple projects or countries and oversee effective implementation of those evaluations.
- Establish communication tools and venues for the effective dissemination of evaluation findings and utilization of learning.
- Build the capacity of headquarters staff, project staff, and program participants to measure outcomes, evaluate program impact, and make continuous program improvements.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Learning and evaluation to cast vision and set goals that guide evaluation practice and use within Unbound’s three-tiered evaluation framework in ways that exemplify credibility, simplicity, utility and participation.
