Job Responsibilities
St. John Fisher University's ( SJF ) Public Health Pharmacy Fellowship Program is seeking a PharmD trained post-graduate for a 2-year collaborative fellowship between the Wegmans School of Pharmacy and the University of Rochester Medical Center ( URMC ). This unique fellowship program is designed to provide pharmacists with a comprehensive multi-tiered approach to public health pharmacy. The fellow will spend time focusing in areas of clinical and community-based pharmacy integrating public health, research, patient care, teaching, and advocacy. Fellows will work with and be mentored by individuals from both the WSoP and URMC . They will work with and be mentored by individuals from both St. John Fisher University's WSoP and the URMC . The fellow will also engage in education of pharmacy students, public health related community initiatives, patient care and the design and implementation of primary data collection research.
Core responsibilities of this position include :
- Work collaboratively and productively with colleagues in the WSOP and URMC as well as local community and clinical sites
- Engage in scholarship activities, with both the WSOP and URMC in areas of public health and pharmacy, including designing, implementing, analyzing and presenting results based on original research
- Collaborate on grants and evaluate potential for grant submissions
- Mentor student-based research projects through layers learning / mentoring
- Work collaboratively with WSOP and URMC to assist with and oversee community health initiatives, such as vaccine clinics, population health initiatives, health fairs, and educational events
- Provide comprehensive, patient- and family-centered clinical pharmacy services for ambulatory patients including, but not limited to the following :
Participation on inter-disciplinary patient care team rounds as appropriate
Education / Experience
The ideal candidate will hold a PharmD (eligible for licensure in New York State) with PGY -1 preferred (equivalent experience will be considered).Successful candidates will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a strong desire to contribute to in the areas of public health and education and be driven to contribute to the school and community in an innovative, thoughtful, and enthusiastic manner.
