Position Overview
Zenius is seeking a meticulous and highly skilled QA Engineer to perform functional, regression, and performance testing of the Web data collection systems. The QA Engineer will validate changes made to high-profile systems including ensuring that enhancements meet federal compliance, accessibility, and performance standards.
This role is critical in validating that all application components perform reliably under high user loads (up to 1,000 concurrent users), and all system modifications meet regulatory and user requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Web System Testing
Design and execute test plans and test cases for web applications (functional, UI, regression, and integration testing).
Test across multiple systems and workflows for collection and dissemination sites such as :
Collaborate with developers to clarify features, system modifications, and resolve bugs.
Verify and validate SOP compliance, data integrity, and content display on AngularJS / ReactJS UIs.
Performance & Load Testing
Conduct scalability and load testing to ensure that each web system supports 1,000 simultaneous users during peak usage.
Use load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, or equivalent) to simulate user activity and capture system performance metrics.
Identify performance bottlenecks and coordinate with the development team on optimizations.
Compliance and Documentation
Ensure all developed software complies with Section 508 accessibility requirements and other federal usability standards.
Maintain testing documentation : test plans, execution results, defect logs, and performance benchmarks.
Support the development of test automation scripts to streamline regression testing cycles.
Technical Skills & Tools
Testing Tools : Selenium, JMeter, LoadRunner, Postman, Cypress, TestRail or similar
Programming / Scripting : Python, JavaScript, PowerShell or Bash (for automation scripting)
Web Technologies : Understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, ReactJS, AngularJS
Databases : Proficient in writing SQL queries (Microsoft SQL Server)
CI / CD & Version Control : Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps (preferred)
Accessibility Testing : 508 compliance validation tools
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of QA experience, including 2+ years in federal or enterprise-level web system testing.
Demonstrated experience in performance testing and scalability validation.
Working knowledge of federal system compliance requirements, including FISMA and 508 accessibility.
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Experience in data quality validation and testing structured and unstructured inputs.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Department of Education data systems or collections
Experience with AWS GovCloud environments or federal cloud-based system delivery models.
ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.
