SQL & Reporting Developer (On-site: Bloomfield Michigan)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented SQL & Reporting Developer - Investment Data Engineer to join our growing technology and risk team. This individual will play a critical role in transforming financial data into actionable insight through automated reporting, data integration, and collaboration across teams.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical proficiency with exceptional business acumen, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a deep understanding of financial systems, banking data, or investment reporting environments, and a commitment to supporting accurate, timely, and compliant data delivery.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions across multiple databases.

Build and maintain automated reports and dashboards using JasperSoft Studio and JasperServer.

Integrate, transform, and manage structured and unstructured financial data from sources such as Bloomberg, S&P Capital IQ, Refinitiv, and other industry platforms.

Collaborate with Risk, IT, Finance, and Operations teams to define reporting needs, align priorities, and ensure successful project delivery.

Develop ETL processes, data models, and schemas to support analytical and regulatory reporting initiatives.

Perform advanced data validation, cleansing, and anomaly detection to ensure data integrity.

Support audit, risk reporting, and compliance initiatives through timely and accurate reporting.

Maintain performance, scalability, and security across multiple database environments.

Stay informed on evolving database technologies, financial regulations, and industry data standards.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or Finance.

5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL development and data engineering.

Demonstrated experience with JasperSoft Studio and JasperServer.

Proficiency in PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and other relational or NoSQL databases.

Strong knowledge of data warehousing, financial data modeling, and automated reporting systems.

Proven experience working with financial systems, banking data, or risk and compliance reporting.

Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

Familiarity with Python, R, or scripting languages for automation and analytics.

Understanding of risk management, regulatory reporting, and financial product structures.
