Summary
Responsible for using excellent customer service to ensure a pleasant dining experience for all residents of Cedar Sinai Park.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Takes meal orders and delivers food for residents and guests.
Buses, cleans, and sanitizes tables as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities
Consistent execution of quality customer service. Maintains and demonstrates ethical conduct. Able to effectively communicate with geriatric and/or confused residents and a variety of other people such as family members, visitors, vendors, Private Duty Residents, and staff. Positive and constructive attitude. Working knowledge of food safety principals and guidelines.
Working Environment & Physical Demands
This position is required to regularly work on campus.
Works in a well-lit and well-ventilated facility. May be exposed to confused, belligerent or physically aggressive residents, may be exposed to contagious diseases and mental stress. Subject to frequent interruptions. Manual dexterity, good vision and hearing is required. Must be able to read products labels and distinguish colors.
May be exposed to heat, water, steam and odors from food preparation. Subject to sudden temperature changes when entering coolers and freezers. Is at risk for burns from hot foods and equipment. Is at risk for cuts from knives. Is at risk for slipping on wet floors.
Physical Summary:
The position requires moderate physical activity throughout the workday. This includes lifting items weighing between 15 and 39 pounds up to 20 times per day and carrying loads of 15 to 40 pounds for distances of 1 to 40 feet, also up to 20 times daily. The role frequently involves bending, squatting, twisting, turning, and reaching, as well as regular walking, standing, and sitting.
Required Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications
Valid Food Handler’s Card for the State of Oregon required.
CPR/First Aid Certificate preferred but not required.
